Members are awarded points for Shares, Clicks, or Reactions according to the values assigned to those Posts. When a Member Shares a Post, the point reward for sharing is displayed right next to the Share button.
Points can also be awarded for Submitting a Post, and having a submitted Post approved by a Manager. (Points may also be discretionarily awarded by a Manager for other activities.)
The default Leaderboard displays members' all time point totals. A member will also see this total in the header of the News Feed.
A Leaderboard can reset on a regular basis: daily, weekly (seven days), monthly (30-31 days), or even quarterly (90 days). This may be noted in the name of the Leaderboard, depending on how it was configured.
A Leaderboard may also display a point total differently than you might expect if the post shared doesn't qualify based on the Leaderboard settings. For example, a Post that is not in the Division set on the Leaderboard will not be counted.
If you have questions about how often a Leaderboard might be reset, or whether or not a shared post qualifies for points in any given Leaderboard, please reach out to your Community Managers for assistance.
