Managers can create a new configuration for a CSV file, or edit an existing configuration, from the Bulk Update Members page. Each file configuration requires a name. Managers can define how each column in the CSV file maps to the member field in the Dynamic Signal platform by adding the specific properties. For properties that allow multiple values, Managers can determine whether to append or replace the existing values in the Dynamic Signal platform with the new values in the CSV file.
Members are matched in the Dynamic Signal platform via their email address or employee ID. If the CSV file has additional columns that are not needed, Managers can select the Ignore Column option and the column will be disregarded. Managers can also use this method to optionally preregister new members in the CSV file that do not exist in the Community by selecting the notification preference of the new preregistered member, and choosing whether an invitation will be sent once the member is preregistered.
If Managers are in the process of suspending existing members in the Community, they can also select members to be marked with an allow-listed tag so they are not automatically suspended, and will not be suspended even if they are missing from the CSV file.
After creating and saving the CSV file configuration, Managers should confirm that the file has been imported accurately with the correct configuration mapping. Once Managers have confirmed that the CSV file configuration is correct, the program will process the new member data and send the Managers a confirmation email. The email provides a link to the Bulk History page which presents a full log of all of the updates processed.
After creating, saving and confirming a CSV file configuration, Managers can return to the Bulk Update Members page to upload the file. The maximum size for a CSV file is 11 MB. Managers must select the file configuration they want to use and determine whether they want to enable the auto pre-register and auto suspend options for that update.
