Dynamic Signal Custom Member Groups empower Managers to search, filter, and customize a wide range of data from their member communities. When you apply a set of filters and customizable columns to create a select group with the member data you need, you can save the new member list as a new Custom Member Group, or you can overwrite an existing Custom Member Group. You can also edit or delete a Custom Member Group.
Once you create a Custom Member Group, you can target members in your Community for special broadcasts, leaderboards, or activities. Custom Member Groups can be saved as private groups or as shared groups. A Private Group is a saved search of member data that is only viewable by you on your Member page. A Shared Member Group works as a powerful tool with which you can not only share member list data with others, but generate a wide variety of reports for a Manager group, put Managers into their own leaderboard, and target your Custom Group with specific broadcasts or other content.
For example, you can create a Custom Group of all Managers in your Community and save it as a Shared Member Group. This allows other Managers to view your new group and for you to generate reports that other Managers can view based on your new Custom Group data. You can also create a Managers leaderboard and target your Managers group for specific broadcasts.
Divisions and Permissions with Custom Member Groups
Managers do not need special permissions to use the filters and customizable columns on the Member List page. To view a Custom Member Group, managers need to have the View Distribution Group permission for that group. Only managers with the Edit Distribution Group permission for a group’s divisions are able to filter, search and save Custom Groups.
