Email Templates allows managers to modify the copy and some formatting for each email notification type. To access Email Templates, go to Admin > Community Settings > Email Templates.
Customize Email Templates in three simple steps across three tabs:

Layout tab
The Layout tab allows you to set the layout of community emails by selecting the location of the company logo on the email, setting a background image, and uploading a banner image.
- The Header Logo pulls in the logo designated in Community Settings > Branding, and lets you set a background color (hexadecimal, or via color picker) if the logo doesn't span the width of the header area in the email.
- The Custom Banner is a wide image you can add to the top of your emails.
- The Mobile App part of your template provides links for your Members to download the mobile app with each email they receive. You can uncheck the entire section, the image, or the individual platform download buttons.
- The Mobile Header sits above the platform download buttons. If you choose to customize the content, an editor is provided with the following special tools, from left to right:
- Align Text - Choose Left, Center, Right, or Justified.
- Insert Token - Adds a text field from the platform, customized to the recipient.
- Insert Link - Links the selected text to a URL.
- Insert Button - Adds a clickable button to the email. You can specify the URL, button text, and it's behavior.
Header customization tools:
- The Footer is displayed at the bottom of the email, and is a good place to place a company-mandated email footer or boilerplate. It has the same editor and tools as the Mobile Header.
Templates tab
The Templates tab allows you to customize the body of individual email types. Each email has different fields that can be customized, and they vary from email to email, as do the specific tools available. You can customize the body of the following email notification types by selecting from the Select an Email Type dropdown:
- Content Digest
- Invitation
- Invitation Reminder
- Message
- Onboarding Reminder
- Post Broadcast
- Submitted Post Approval
- Usage Lapse Reminder
- Welcome Email
Some or all of the following tools will be available to you for each email type (from left to right):
- Bold - Makes the selected text bold.
- Italic - Makes the selected text italic.
- Bulleted List - Adds a bulleted list.
- Align Text - Choose Left, Center, Right, or Justified.
- Copy Default Content - Copies the existing content of the email so you can make changes.
- Insert Token - Adds a text field from the platform, customized to the recipient.
- Insert Link - Links the selected text to a URL.
- Insert Button - Adds a clickable button to the email. You can specify the URL, button text, and it's behavior.
For an example of template customization, let's look at the Welcome Email template. To customize the Welcome Email template, perform the following steps:
- Customize the email Subject Line.
- Customize the email Headline.
- Customize the email Subtitle.
- Customize the email Body.
Previews tab
Each email in the platform can be Previewed from this screen, in each of the available languages. Select the Email from the Select an Email Type dropdown, and the Language from the dropdown next to it (set to the Default language).
