FAQ
Will Quick Polls be displayed?
Can the passive feed pull from a hidden category?
Yes, if you have content you only want to surface on a touchpoint but not on the Dynamic Platform, you can easily create a hidden category.
Can the carousel be configured to see all five slides at once instead of one at a time? Can the carousel be configured to have more than just Dynamic Platform content (weather slide, stock news, etc.)?
Configuration can be done via the JSON feed script, but the iFrame code cannot be configured. If you want more configurable content, JSON feed is your best option.
Is there any way to configure and add additional text to the iFrame slide show besides the title?
Currently, there is no option to add additional text. If you want more configurable content, JSON feed is your best option.
Who is responsible for the appearance CSS? Can we change the website background?
Customization of the platform, such as website background color, is done in SharePoint or a similar intranet solution.
Is it safe to say Dynamic Platform can replace digital signage platforms?
At this time, Touchpoints is not a standalone replacement for digital signage. They can, however, be used to drive content into an existing digital signage solution.
How easy is it to implement within a digital signage platform?
It depends on the level of customization. Digital signage platforms can typically easily ingest an RSS feed. We can take that Dynamic Platform content and configure how it appears and then give you the JSON feed to create a custom solution.
Could the passive feed slideshows be used during events?
Absolutely, this is a perfect use case for events.
Could the passive feed slideshow show polls? What about video?
No, the slideshow can only show posts.
My post is not displayed in my Interactive List Feed, why may this be?
Posts that do not have an image will not be displayed in this feed, please check that your post has an image added!
If I am signed in to SharePoint, do I still need to sign into Dynamic Platform?
You will need to sign in once, but the login screen appears inline. You can utilize SSO and hold that sign-in for as long as the SSO token is valid.
Before I sign into Dynamic Platform within SharePoint, what content will I see?
You’ll see the generic, non-targeted feed that the administrator has set. Once you sign in, you’ll see things that are targeted to you.
Can Dynamic Platform display a carousel or does the interactive feed have to be a vertical newsfeed?
Right now, only the vertical option is available for the interactive feed, but the carousel option is available as a passive feed.
How do I migrate from a Sharepoint web part?
Luckily, migrating is very straightforward! Simply:
- Create a new touchpoint: You can follow the instructions here to create a new Touchpoint
- Pick a category: Match the provided category from the Sharepoint Web Part (Touchpoints allows you to select multiple!)
- Choose your filter: The Touchpoint filters are more explicit than the Web Part filter. Instead of public and private, you can choose content that matches specific criteria (shareable, out-of-app, etc.)
- Save the Touchpoint.
- Add to SharePoint Page: Create a new Embed widget in Sharepoint and paste the provided code snippet. This should replace the existing SharePoint widget. Note: To completely remove the Webpart, file an IT request to remove it from your App Catalog.
- Save the SharePoint page and you're good to go!
Note: Targets are respected on a user level, instead of broadly selected.
For a SharePoint embed Web Part, which link should I use?
SharePoint Web Parts do not accept website links, so it’s important to use the iFrame you generate after adjusting your feed view settings. Above the feed preview, simply click the red iFrame link to copy and then paste it into the embed widget.
