On June 30th, Dynamic Signal will transition its LinkedIn API from v1 to v2. This is required as LinkedIn is deprecating the v1 API, and is necessary for the Dynamic Signal platform to continue to communicate with LinkedIn.
In order to use the v2 API, all members in your Dynamic Signal platform will be prompted to reauthenticate any connected LinkedIn accounts used for sharing, shown with the red exclamation mark below. They can simply click the exclamation mark to reauthenticate with LinkedIn.
Any and all LinkedIn Feeds currently connected will also need to be reauthenticated by a manager with administrator rights to your LinkedIn pages. Starting with the release on June 11th, Dynamic Signal Managers can proactively reauthenticate any and all connected LinkedIn feeds, by using the Renew Connection button shown below. All proactively reauthenticated LinkedIn feeds will not be affected on June 30th. We highly recommend proactively reauthenticating your LinkedIn feeds between June 11 and June 30 to prevent any disruption in the importing of your content.
When a Manager connects their LinkedIn account, we will be able to authenticate all feeds that account has control over, which should make the process very quick. We recommend making sure at least one Manager in your Dynamic Signal platform has control over all of the LinkedIn feeds you connect in order to simplify the process now, and in the future.
Q: What can I expect in the way of changes between v1 and v2?
A: You should see no differences whatsoever. We have achieved full feature parity in the transition, and everything will work just like you've grown accustomed to.
Q: When does this transition start?
A: After our release on June 11th, the Dynamic Signal Platform will support both the V1 and V2 APIs. Once that happens, any new accounts / feeds will be connected with the v2 API, as well as anything that need to be reauthenticated. All existing accounts / feeds are still using the v1 API, and will continue to function until that API is deprecated on June 30th.
Q: What happens if we don't reauthorize our accounts / feeds?
A: You will be prompted to reauthorize the account / feed and they will not connect to LinkedIn until that is completed. This will prevent content from being imported, as well as prevent any members who have not reauthorized LinkedIn from sharing to that service.
Q: I tried to reconnect a LinkedIn Feed and it failed. What happened?
A: You may not be an admin in LinkedIn for that page. LinkedIn requires the account you connect with to be an admin of the LinkedIn Page before we are allowed to import its content. Please have a Manager with admin rights to the page reauthorize the Feed.
Q: What do my Members need to do?
A: If a Member's LinkedIn account expires, it will be shown with a red exclamation mark when they go to share. Clicking the exclamation mark will prompt them for their LinkedIn account credentials and allow them to reauthorize.
